History of my career.

(Download my full resume here.)

For more than 15 years, I have been on the staff of a non-profit organization or consulting for one. My career began at the Opera Company of Philadelphia and led to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Russell Byers Charter School, and Foundations, Inc.  I then went to work as an account executive at Steege/Thomson Communications, a leading communications consulting firm in Philadelphia, where I managed projects for clients in healthcare, philanthropy, education, and the arts. In February 2007, I went out on my own as a consultant.

As an account executive or independent consultant, I’ve written or strategized for the Public Health Management Corporation, Washington National Cathedral, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, the Kimmel Center, Tyler School of Art, Haverford College, Wistar Institute, and Penn Medicine. Most recently, I started working in the high-tech, for-profit sector, writing marketing collateral for QlikTech, a global business intelligence company.

I am a founding member and member of the board of Spells Writing Center, a program for young people ages 6-18 that’s based on the model of Dave Eggers’ 826 Valencia program. And I provide volunteer writing services for the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) and the Urban Animal Alliance.

On off days, you’ll find me behind a camera, with my dog — or someone else’s — on a bike, or digging in dirt.  I hold a BA from Barnard College.
